Hi. The Change Oil warning message appeared with a flashing oil can on my ducato based camper van. This happened whilst on holiday but it was serviced (non Fiat garage) a few weeks before. All seemed OK apart from this message.
Back home now after doing around 1500 miles after warning light.
I have just been out to start it up and it sound rough on idling.
Have I done damage by driving with this light on or is it a coincidence that it now idles rough.
Cheers Tribby

Have you checked the oil, could be full of diesel.

I have checked and will check the oil again but why would it be full of diesel?

The oil check light needs resetting via obd using something like multiecuscan, the garage who serviced it should have a diagnostic tool that should reset it

I would check oil level on dipstick and take it back to them if running rough,

Did they use the correct grade of oil?

One common ish thing my fellow couriers have had with the 2.2 engine is the auxiliary belt bottom pulley failing, giving a rough running feeling/sound, a new pulley, bolt and washer plus belt reqd,
I would have that looked at

Could be anything but worth checking the above

Many thanks. Hopefully its just a reset for the warning.

I've driven 11000 miles with that light flashing no problems get it turned off for £45 at Fiat Dealer

OK cheers. I have booked it into the garage that did the service next week and they said they can reset the light. They will check out the running rough when idling when cold. Will feedback with results.

Bit of an update. Van has been in the garage since Wednesday. The garage can remove the message but have been trying to fault find the rough idling and white smoke on start up. They are fitting a new EGR valve today.
Fingers crossed this does the trick.
