Hi, we have a 2023 Ducato 2.2 with an electronic oil gauge. We have done 3500 miles in the last 3 months and oil level has come down from full to 2 bars which is near minimum. My Fiat Professional dealer has advised to only refill 200ml at a time, run it and check again levels. Done this but no change so far in the level. Can see that some owners are reporting that these electronic gauge can get faulty. So could have a full tank of oil and refilling it more may overfill which is also a problem in itself as the excess would have to be removed by the dealer.
What can anybody suggest?

Get the Fiat Professional to check. The gauge is faulty or there's another problem. The garage can drain the oil and measure.
I have 2022 Ducato 2.2 9 speed auto. 17,000 miles. Never done a top-up. Gauge tends to drop sections.
Having done only 3,500 miles you shouldn't need oil. Do Not Repeat top-up and I assume you used the same oil. If the oil was physically full, you are at risk of over filling.
Enjoy your van 👍.

Thanks for this. Will definitely get Fiat to check.

Just interested to know if and how you resolved the issue.

Hi, not resolved it yet. The 200 ml oil eventually raised the gauge by one bar after a 90 miles drive to the dealer where we had bought it. (it's a motorhome) The dealer drained the oil and found that we had used about 3.5l in 3500 miles. Although confirmed that there is no oil leak. Replaced the oil, but gauge is still 3 bars short of full, even after driving another 90 miles. We are now booked in with our local Fiat dealer for investigation of oil consumption and gauge in October. Let's hope they can sort it, although wish Fiat would do a recall and retro-fit dipstick to the engines!!

Suggest you have confirmed warranty claim for cover.

That is consuming a Lot of oil which needs fixing soon because it could have a detrimental effect on the dpf
