Hi, Has anyone solved the above if you have received the dreaded "Oil pressure warning". I've had a new oil pump and pressure switch fitted but NO CHANGE. ???????

What engine?
Also was gauze pick up filter and tube checked etc.
My Engine is the 2.3 / 150bhp, I don't know if the items you mentioned were checked. Other than the oil pickup, pump and filter is there anything else in the circuit that affects the pressure.

This is the bit I was meaning to commonly affect oil pressure, gauze blocked/pipe cracked/O ring seal damaged.
If that is all good and you have a new oil pump, filter and oil then generally you are down to engine bearing wear:(
Are there any signs of bearing noise?
Has a physical oil pressure reading been taken?

Hi, Thanks for the reply, Although I've owned the motorhome from NEW and had this problem from not long later FIAT were unable to trace the fault. I took it to an independent garage who told me that there was 3 second delay in OIL PRESSURE at the switch. Is there any simple tests that can be carried out to point in a certain direction. Thanks.

Sorry I don't know is the simple answer.
I did look at a 2012 manual and the similar engine in an Iveco Daily is listed as 5x30 synthetic oil and I believe yours is listed as 5x40 synthetic, although not sure if that would be relevant or not.
Does your owners handbook give any guidance?
I occasionally see a retired Fiat MH mechanic and will try and ask him if I remember.
If this is only on cold starting and engine always starts very quickly the ECU may be picking up the low oil pressure before it has circulated.
I know in the past some cars had a inhibitor from letting the engine fire until a certain oil pressure was reached.
I assume cheap pattern oil filters with no valve inside to prevent oil drain back can be ruled out if Dealer serviced.
Apart from that I know that some VW and Audi vehicles after an oil change could throw up oil pressure warnings , but it was actually the level indicator at bottom of sump slow to react to having oil drained and replaced so it was actually a "level" issue rather than pressure, but I don't know if the Fiat one reacts to other signals/sensors.
