Hi, If I was to place an Oil Pressure gauge in place of the switch on my Ducato 2.3 / 150 what pressure would I expect to see.

Hmmm interesting question , being honest i don't know the exact answer . However 25-65 psi is generally seen as acceptable , though many manufacturers state that an engine should read around 30 at idle , rising to 60 when running at higher speeds .

My mothers mini has a factory pressure gauge fitted (98 Rover Mini) , that reads 60 psi at start up , falling back to 30-35 at idle as the engine warms . Poking the engine with a stick does raise that , but nowhere near the the top end stated .
Yet interestingly the pressure given for my x230 are 11.5 at idle , rising to 56 psi at 3800 rpm ? .

Personally i would add both via a tee bar , and maintain the pressure switch in the circuit , for that sort of belt and braces touch !

the switch would still need to be in place or ecu would pick up fault pressure at idle 30 at bottom sensor 70 at top sensor
