Technical Brake lights on permanently!

Technical Brake lights on permanently!

In the position of the plug in the pic I’ve indicated the two pins with battery voltage.

Is there a relay somewhere for the brakes?

Great

That's as expected

ok, I've tested both brake switches and got the same result:
.0001 resting
1 plunger depressed

Are you sure, thats not how it's drawn, normal open at rest and closed when pressed

Do the other two pins work the opposite way

Ok will double check.

To confirm, on the brake light switch I'm testing - the clip is at the top or the ridge?

Not sure which up to test - see orientation of switch below. Which way up?

With blades horizontal:
2 and 4 read 00.9 and when plunger pushed in it's 1

1 and 3 are the reverse.

That brake light switch in your pic definitely has a longer plunger than the two I have. See pic of mine below.

Should the plunger be compressed at rest and extended when foot on the brake?

Oooo that’s interesting! So the plunger can be pulled out with long nose pliers to extend it enough to be compressed at rest!

Grabs pliers…gently pulls out plunger…

Result! The plunger now is compressed when fitted and extends fully when brake pedal is pushed.

Lights are no longer on permanently anymore!

Thank you @koalar
