All comments and ideas are welcomed! :) :D
i use needle nose pliers and a thin pointy screwdriver to persuade them in,

got used to these nasty springs after 31 years,

idonts let these nasty springs win, :D

Me neither I'll keep going and going until I got the bugger on!:D I'm just like you will go on wherever you like it or not:rolleyes:

Ah the joys you have when fixing a 13-14 year old car:)

Oh I agree puntos are easy as pie to work on, well 16v on other hand is slightly more dramatic on engine failure...but easy to work on once you know your way round from point a to point b:)

My punto now is a joy to drive now starts up every time not hesitant! And never wants to hold back which is a bonus! And its brakes are spot on!:D

just started mine up, after its been sat in the frost for 6 days,
1st turn, iwas expecting flat battery, :D

we want sunshine not snow, (y)

horrible salt of grit van rots out ayetalian cars,

well yes sunshine would be perfect but we all know our weather nowadays we dont even need weather on the radio, tv, internet etc!:D cause 9/10 up to new year we'll have sunshine but feels like its -10:eek: with showers, hail, you name it! then comes lovely jan start of a new year yep roads are jammed cause everyone going on their bargain hunting trips! then comes end of jan........wonderful snow id say 90% it'll happen!(y)

best part is most towns/cities go on a gridlock with just an inch of snow:D it always makes me laugh...me pfft im going out see 'ya!:)

Now all being well with mot literally around the corner and I have that positive vibe as everything seems to be in order!:)

So to the point, I was thinking if I can get Skippy first time go on mot I'd happily buy a new ______________ ;) so if car passes great if fail and not major faults that won't clean me dry!!

Then in consideration I'd upgrade a part that will be revealed in good time .... Watch this space !! :D

Well after today with the final result of the repairs for mot , it was just a disaster waiting to happen with welding. The under belly is rotten! Apart from driver side although passenger side has been patched up!

So on those thoughts, one more mot in my name and throw in the towel maybe summer or October time I'll buy a new car at same time and pay insurance for new car outright for a year :)

So if the punto doesn't sell in a few months or so it will be scrapped. I can see in near future its gonna get worse and I'm drawing the line here enough is enough. 200 in a day is crazy so yeah.

I will be leaving the Fiat world comes new car:) I may stay on the forum I may not who knows;)

Thanks!

you have to remember a £200 repair these days is not a lot of work
i was quoted £450 by my local dealer a few weeks ago for a $3 item
you may go to a different brand but all cars now are too technical to be bullet proof
you might hate your 12 year old fiat but 30 years ago a 6 year old car was scrap because of real proper rust there was NO floor where you put your feet
not happy days because back then we couldnt afford to keep our cars like we can now
thats why we died young
ask james dean:D
