I agree - the styling is a bit bland and I liked the sharp, boxy nature of the current car. And why do cars always have to get bigger and bigger....... Suspect weight will be over the magic tonne now, which will be a shame.PG

Definately gone all Mr Blobby, which is a shame. Another example of manufacturers pursuing the mantra of "bigger and more up-market" for each subsequent model. Lost a lot of the appeal for me at least. Hope the 4x4 looks better.

I don't quite get what people were expecting.

The styling of the current car was very postman pat and it turned a lot of people off, this still manages to be a Panda, but also has more mainstream appeal.

It's a difficult one for Fiat though - on the one hand they have to try and keep their existing Panda customers happy, but they also have to try and broaden its appeal for motorists in 2012.

Brands like Kia, Hyundai etc have really upped their game over the past 8 years since the current Panda was introduced, and as a result standard equipment levels have increased as well.

I do really like the "branding" that they have tried to create here. The car is still clearly a Panda, and as I mentioned earlier in the thread, any entry level 1.2 version will no doubt still provide basic, cheap motoring.

Who knows, Fiat might continue to run the current model in some sort of guise (like the Clio Campus) to provide an ultra low-cost solution. That would be a good idea IMO but let's see what happens...

Well I obviously cant say for certain but personally I think this new Panda will be a bigger seller for Fiat if the prices are right. I think its more mainstream and modern and the stylish interior will win over a lot of people. It certainly has a very cute and friendly look to it. Personally im not that keen but im hoping that if they do a sports version it will be much more aggressive.

Offically ABARTH only brought a EVO and 2 A500's.. i expect the one hidden under that cloth to be the new 695.. however it does appear boxy at the rear..

I dont know what i mean.. thought it through last night, the MultiJet is the Deisel engine and the T-Jet & MultiAir are the Petrol.. so one of them

I know its the A500... Abarth have only taken 3 cars to the Frankfurt show, PuntoEVO SuperSport, the 500 695 Tributo Ferrari & the 500 Cabrio Italia

For us, the big news of the IAA in Frankfurt, of course, the new Fiat Panda. We obviously had all the necessary pictures seen in terms of technique and there were no more secrets (http://www.fiatblog.nl/?p=11599). Still, we were curious to see how the third generation in real life Panda would look ...

First impression: a tasty model, where the Panda features are still recognizable, despite the somewhat more rounded nose. But also: what is' he grew up ... With the dimensions 365 x 164 x 155 cm, the new Panda obviously still not "stretch limo, but not a small city car anymore. The larger sizes are certainly feeling good inside: there is clearly more width and rear legs, well you can lose if your dress size is not the front of the rack.

On the show are a piece or seven Pandas, in different colors, with matching interior, of course. Rear seats are a bit more robust and has become, but the finish is very familiar. This also applies to the familiar in a high-level console poker stabbing, but not for the striking dash, with a large rommelbak 'right. Depending on paint and performance dashboards are in different colors, with the red version is actually slightly less pink than the picture here.

Proud to halt the Fiat 900 cc two-cylinder forward (or up actually) who, in various versions, the only engine is temporary. There is already there have been reports of four cylinders, but during the presentation, we hear that such alternatives are not immediately be available. Moreover, it is intended that the Panda showrooms in February, the Dutch state.

For those younger Fiats something too big and yet prefer to keep the current model, there is good news: both Panda's are still at least half year comes together. It will also deal with the competition, because the Panda III is more expensive than its smaller predecessor and the current is now priced razor (http://www.fiatblog.nl/?p=11667). The parallel sale is easily possible because the newcomer will be built in Italy, so the assembly line in Poland may run as long as necessary.

I would take anything the media say with a pinch of salt. IMHO there's every change the Abarth could have a 1.4 t-jet.

I know its only a photoshop but if they do an Abarth version and it looks like that then I wont be buying its hideous. I am also after a bit more power next time and 105 BHP just wont do it. I cant see a Panda in any trim having more than that so I think its time to step up to the 500 Abarth.
