Introduction

Hi all,

Got told to up load my pics to here,

So here we go.

Got this last weekend as a fuel saver run about car.

Bought it because my first car was a Fiat Uno 60s, I wanted another but none were available then I saw this!

In other news I got a golf front lip. This is the type with the air ducts in front. Not sure if I'm digging it yet. But it's only zip tied on. So easy to remove. ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1434238519.021868.jpg

Also about to make a plate thingy for my clutch hole.

going to try using a wall mount for a monitor as I have heaps of them.

Here's a question. Last night, I broke my second clutch cable since I've owned my car. This one hasn't even been in there long.

Is this a common occurrence?

when our OSLO was a daily driver.., we'd use a cable every 20K miles (30Km)

so yes - I would say its a "feature"..

obviously it's a pretty tortuous run for a cable.., all later RHD FIAT's went hydraulic..!!;)

folk say to never grease the clutch cable as it will make it feel very "gooey"
my theory is that if its lubricated it wont fail.

i dont know if you have noticed, but from the factory they have no lubrication what so ever. i often just get my old oiling can / lift pump and stick a few shots of oil in where it goes through the bulkhead. under the dash.

its like its designed to be filled with oil as its like a cup when looking at it.

from memory they all broke at the bulkhead area ( fraying),

had the car from 6,700 miles.. so doubt it was "wrong",

Charlie

My first experience of Panda's was fixing my brother-in-laws clutch cable every year (he's not very practical). In the worst instance the cable had started to saw through the bulkhead.

At the time we (I) thought it was a RHD/LHD cable routing problem, so I used a combination of a new welded plate and made sure the angle of the bulkhead grommet was a little more suitable (hammer and large drift on the new plate). That did the trick.

I ordered some parts from Japan.
One of them being this fiat panda rear boot tray. Sigh. It's the wrong size. So feel a bit silly getting it in from Japan but. I'll try make it work.

I guess it's for a slightly newer model?

Also got my epic cable in from eBay. ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1435369657.333591.jpg

Thank goodness it's the correct size as I was told by the guy who supplies the other crap cable (also in the picture) that they don't work.

It's fitted now. So I guess there's the truth.

Need to do some work to the firewall so I can bolt it in like I'm sure that's how it's supposed to go.

But works for now, just has a little more play than I'd like.

Thanks again guys for your help!
