Thats just the cast block. not bolt, but that wont make a difference as both side are sealing faces

yea, it's purely for the room of getting th filter on and off of the extension bolt if you know what i mean. I should be ok with it, just about to eat now, then i'll post up some pics of what i've been messing about with tonight (turbo elbow/ downpipe)

right here we go, have got the turbo elbow/downpipe in shape now, just held together by sellotape haha but it does have lines on it at the joins to line up the parts when i come to weld it.

well a garage or shed would of been good,lol so you dont have to worry about spilling oil etc.

nah won't be spilling any oil, the engine is drained and stuffs, just doing all these fiddly bits and that in my room, then i'll get it plopped in to a cinq ASAP

right-o gonna get the turbo elbow finished today, it's all welded up, just needs the pipe welding to the flange. I've also machined a recess in the back of the exhaust flange to allow the wastegate to open and close a bit more than it could before! Will get some pics up when i get back from the scrappy, not really going for much; some TB bolts, might enquite about a head, little grommet for the single wiper hole. Any other suggestions of bits to look out for? (for the turbo conversion)

if you could have a look for a bit of wiring loom off an mpi sei, 16v punto, or in fact most cars nowadays that plugs into the knock sensor - would appriecate that plug with as much wire on it as you can get

I was already at the scrappy lol Arc - i should be able to get you that plug as theres a punto 85sx in the scrappy in my town. Ghost - no mk2s and only one mk1 in Frank Beales Vehicle Dismantlers in Desborough.
Got a cambelt cover (single piece) just to tidy it up for now lol
Gonna get the turbo elbow welding finished soon hopeully (when my dad's motorbike panel has finished hanging up to dry in the shed) lol

here's some more piccies for your opinions, the turbo elbow is all welded up now, and if you all think it's in an OK place and won't get in the way of anything then i'll fully weld the manifold to the turbo mounting plate and that'll be that part done! Also attached a couple of pics of the TB top trial fitted (thanks Gazzaman)

you mean the 2 part ones? lol that one is off a punto 60, dno if it would fit in the cinq engine bay thou you'd need to check, just picked it up to tidy up how the engine looks for now lol.

and yea the 2 pieces fit, cos i've got one on mine as well, well only the top half haha.Ooh another Q, does anyone know the thread of the 1242 8v lambda sensor? Cos i need to make up a little spacer fo fit the lambda to the turbo elbow, thanks in advance!
