Morning one 'n all;
need a bit of technical help from owners of 500s with original pattern wheels (190pcd)--what are the dimensions of the wheel bolts? are they 10mmx1.25mm thread? I am trying to make up a 'locating stud' for a friend. The idea is that you (finger tight only) screw the stud into a wheel bolt orifice before you fit the wheel which greatly assists lining up the wheel bolts holes. When you have a couple of wheel bolts in place, you take out the stud and fit a correct wheel bolt. This makes it much easier to fit (and take-off) wheels. Look forward to any help that can be given--thank you.![]()
The wheel bolts are course not fine, so 1.5 thread and are M10 x 20mm. On a standard car with drums, you could also get away with 25mm in length.
So standard M10 studding will be fine for making up a wheel locating pin. I have some here if you want me to cut off a length and post in a Jiffy bag.
cheers, Steve
