ie the point skin starts turning to a liquid

i thought it was 65ºC but since top gear got up to 61ºC

google had no avail

could be 85ºC?

i would test this but dont have appropriate equitment
 
The reason why a lot of medical testing is done on pigs is because they most closely resemble humans.
What happens when you put a joint of pork in the oven?
The meat cooks & the skin becomes crackling.
If you cover the joint with tinfoil, it gets indirect heat & the skin just becomes 'less tough' - it is easy to cut through with a domestic table knife.

Skin doesn't melt, the fat underneath it does, the skin itself will will burn and shed as the fat melts but there's too many different molecules in skin for there to be a set point, same with blood. I asked my biology teacher in y11.
 
i remember watching a programme about spontaneous human combustion, they did an experiment with a (dead) pig wrapped in a blanket, the blanket acted as a wick when the room was on fire, drawing the fats out the pig. this caused a massive fire which took the fire brigade a long time to put out(even though it was supposedly a controlled fire!) :eek: just think about that next time you tuck yourself in at night :devil:
