I would put 2.6 litres in then run the car up to operating temperature turn off wait 10 mins then check on dipstick or alternatively put 2.6 then check it on a morning before you start the car then you know all oil has flowed back to the sump

I have to change the oil in the tank? Can't I just pour the oil in?

I usually chuck 3l in and take it from there the difference between min and max in something like 1l of oil

not managed to overfill it yet :D

Had a 1.2 8v GP from 2006 till 2010 ish had the 1.4 8v evo and my sister has had a 1.2 8v 500 since 2010 needless to say ive done rather a few oil changes in that time

What tank :s you need to replace the oil filter and remove to drain bolt on the bottom of the engine usually 12mm hexagon then when the oil stops draining usually 15 mins depending how hot the oil is replace the 12mm bolt and then go to the top and refill with oil.

Close, but not the diesel one :)
Edge for petrol engine.

I think with using the Fuchs oil the engine noise is softer.

Also, keep in mind that different countries have different packaging and labelling for the same oils :) - in New Zealand our Castrol Edge comes in a different container to the ones shown in England.

I'm currently using a Penrite 5W40 full synthetic because it was available locally at a good price.

I have never heard this brand: Penrite :) But you know I'm from Hungary.
Just an advice: try to keep the oil level near the max /variable camshaft likes it :)/

the differencies between the additives.
I'm curious to know the Castrol's answer :)

Wonder no more

You can use the Castrol EDGE 5W-40 or the Turbo Diesel version quite happily as they both are approved to the Fiat S2 spec – modern oils are designed for both petrol and diesel cars, as long as it meets the required specification for your car it will be suitable despite the name.

Both will mix so next time you can get the EDGE 5W-40 if you have a preference

Kind regards
