If I want to be calm?
I mean if you are not confident which oil is good for your car, just pick one which has Fiat 9.55535-S2...
For eg.:
Selénia K P.E. 5W-40
Castrol Edge 5W-40
Castrol Magnatec C3 5W-40
BP Visco 5000 C 5W-40
Fuchs Titan Gt1 5W-40
Omv Bixxol Special C3 5W-30
Liqui Moly Top Tec 4100 5W-40
Meguin Low Emission 5W-40
For eg.:

The diesel was designed for the vw/Audi group of vehicles using the pd (pump Duse) engines which had problems with the camshaft lobes so must be pretty decent stuff

Edge for petrol engine.
its still got the same SAE 5W-40; ACEA C3 fiat 9.55535-S2 approval
its wet and slippery and meets the right spec

will go grab some better pictures bar change the colour of the cap and the removal of the words turbo diesel its the same spec of oil or better than what fiat demands

At the time i got the edge with turbo diesel wording it was all that was available late on evening in a motorshop chain the uk in about 2010 when i needed some to top up
even the standard edge has the same / more approvals than the "older" turbo diesel

well they all meet the fiat specification
I have not used the magnatec or the Titan personally mainly on the availability / price front
I have been picking the Edge up when ever its been on offer £30 last bottle from asda but its gone back up in price there

See the grande punto guides section there is my oil change guide in there (note the oil I used at the time was the correct one fiat later changed the specification)
a maximum of 3.2l to full on the dipstick but add a bit at a time in case you failed to get all the old oil out you dont want to over fill it

the 1.4's have a metal brace on some which gets in the way of the drain plug but ive not had a problem using a standard alan key and a ring spanner slipped over it for added leverage.......
if i was you i'd invest in a set of these

makes the oil filter so easy to remove (other types that clamp by the end dont work as they get stuck against the exhaust manifold)
If your looking for a new filter which should be replaced at the same time you can get original fiat filters here for £3.38 plus postage (which is more than the item but if your doing a service no doubt you'll be doing the air filter, spark plugs and the like
