Sorry to resurrect this thread, but on doing a search I found it.

We have just had a similar issue with our new 500 - picked up last Thursday.

No washers at all but this includes the rears as well. I would have expected if the pipes get pushed off I would see water coming out of somewhere. I also can't hear the washer motor, so I'm guessing we have a different issue, either a fuse or the motor.

Also I'm guessing FIAT by now would have latched on to this common issue and done some sort of mod....:chin:

Any ideas - so we are armed with some info. when we go back to the dealer?

Any water in the washer bottle:confused:

I really wish I'd thought of that before I checked the fuse, and then took it it to the dealer for them to confirm it's a faulty washer motor which needs replacing...

no disrespect intended but I have been driving the best part of 35 years and this was the most obvious first check...

Confirmed - - picking the 500 up today after they have replaced a faulty washer motor.

Cheers all.

That's why it's always best to read through a thread before making the deduction that you've got the same issues as others. The issues that most people have with the washers on the 500 revolve around the pipe of the rear washer freezing up in cold cold weather and the nozzles at the front popping out when it gets cooler. I think I remember someone mentioning a dead washer pump before and I've had mine replaced because it was (and still does in fact!) squirt a little fluid on the front screen when you wash the rear screen. But dead pumps really aren't anywhere near being a common issue for the 500 :)

Mmmm well 22 pages was a bit of a big ask TBH.

I was faced with launching a new thread and somebody jumping on me for not searching and saying 'use search first it could be this' or searching and resurrecting an old thread on the back of that might be the same issue -

damned if you do and damned if you don't I guess...

Here we go again, third year in a row, washer jet failure, its falling out again on the passenger side.
But this time around, rather then the regular december, it has failed in October, although this time about it is not under warrenty.
This is getting a bit silly now I have to say

I thought I read somewhere that Fiat introduced a modified design early this year?
To be honest I didn't really compare the new ones with the old, so no idea what the change is, if any.

Maybe someone else can elaborate?

Failing that, maybe I too can look forward to a regular visit to the dealer.

Had a word with the dealer today to explain this, since the service desk was informed from the service manager that its a known common fault. No words of a fix in place.

So I basically said that while I can acknowledge that, having this happen for the forth time in a period of 22 months isnt acceptable. Mostly as This is happening far too often (the cost isnt a major factor here) and I would rather have a stop to this.

So in the meantime they said that the person they want to check with isnt in again until monday and they will get back to me.

I'm on page 9 reading about Abarths.
On page 8 I see talk of heating up a screwdriver and melting a bit of the plastic.

I'm not getting into a fight with you

As I said, you're still on noob settings.....

I found that squeezing the "interference fit" section of the jet in the jaws of some pliers left ridges on the plastic and have held mine in place since last year.
