So, peeps, in theory I could change my speedo to read KM whilst in europe, it would save all that calculating

Is that a thing, and why don't the manufacturers just have a button for it?

If not, an alternative could be a GPS HUD unit in Kph. My speedo is often completely invisible in daylight due to reflection so I fitted one years ago. Bonus is a spot-on reading with no inbuilt error.

I’ve figured out what you’re doing now

Driving to France and doing the inaugural 48 hours of le man then driving back

🤣🤣🤣 Actually that would be amazing, if I was twenty years younger.
I'm doing:
France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Czechia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, & Belgium. Which is around 5k miles as I couldn't get into Belarus or Russia.

Well that sounds like great fun:)

Very good advice given above.

Personally I would jack up the wheels, give them a spin and a waggle to make sure they're not falling off, brakes aren't binding, bearings are smooth, visual check of tyres, springs and dampers. Check all fluids and whoosh off you go.

I'd avoid the temptation to fettle too much before a long journey, can do more harm than good. If in good order leave well alone.

Have a good trip:)

Boo! I'd much rather do that journey in a smol fiat😀

After doing the trip in a 875cc, not 4 litre plus, you can buy another FIAT when you are back. 🙂

I knew somebody "in the trade", took Elton John's old Bentley to the West Country it did 7mpg.. not a sensible prospect for 5,000 mile trips 😑

Imagine how long you"d be parked up waiting for a new tyre.. Or exhaust parts.. 🤔
