So Ive got an 87 SEAT Marbella which recently overheated and blew its head gasket and am having difficulties getting it to run right, so I've decided to swap the engine to a 1.4 16v from a Fiat 500. Instead of its original ECU I'll be using a Speeduino. However I can't find a base map for the engine. If anyone can help me out it would be highly appreciated.

Which ECU have you got?
If this is just to run the engine, is the comms to other ECUs configurable...
I'd better have a look at this...
For now I'd like to just get it running but maybe in the future turbo it or something, which is why imma use a speeduino, I can tune and tweak whatever i need with it and just let it run in the background and it'll tune itself. Never used one before but I've only heard good things. And ive managed to make my own base tune using the mega squirt website

I think the speeduino community would be a better place to get help and support with this. What you are looking for is going to be very specific to whatever hardware you are using and the sensors you are using as well as how you’ve wired it all up.

I’m not sure speedunio has ever been discussed in any detail on this forum, but by all means do keep this thread updated as you might help some other people out

You can get circuit diagrams from the download section of the forum, but the 500 is notoriously difficult to get detailed specifications for.
You'll need to check them as they may not be your year or country version.

I think it would be possible to get other components that you do know the specs of, and as long as they are the same physical size/threads/etc you could then program them into your ECU.

And IIRC our (yellow) Marbella came with a 0,9 l 30 (or so) Hp. Discussed this car yesterday with my son and we agreed that we had some serious fun with it, but the idea of 100 or more hoses in this car would really scare me (and I am not easily scared where cars are involved).
