People download stuff because they can, Its easy and virtually no chance you'll get caught.
Designing now security measures to prevent copyright infringment probabely costs artists,/software designers more than they actually loose in downloads.

You can record on sky tv planner and burn to disk or even not and i doubt very much that they ask every channal and program if its ok for there custemers to record.

and someone in post above made a very good point when he/she said that the companys arent losing anying because at that price if you couldnt download he/she wouldnt buy anyway.

Its not illegal to record from TV or Radio so you can watch at your pleasure. Yes i do do it as i pay extra in my Sky Contract to have Sky+

so if for instance, i downloaded the new simpsons episodes...is this illegal? as its a free to watch the channel, if you rule out that you pay sky tv. if it is illegal, its stupid because to be legal i have to get a subscription just to watch the simpsons..and most of the time, simpsons is crap

Whether you like a film or not this creativity only exists to make money and employs millions of people. It nobody wants to pay then the industry will cease to exist and we will all be left with nothng.

We live in a smething for nothing society and one way or another things will drastically change here in the west at least. In a very short period of time.
