ok so i have my rear lights fully tinted will my car pass/fail its mot i need to know as soon as possible so i can go to the scrappys and get another set...

As Beau said MOT inspector's opinion. IMO if you have it done you deserve to fail goddamn fugly thing to do anyway :yuck:
Yea it will vary from place to place, but it's always best to have a spare untinted set for MOT time, they can be quite strict about these things. There is room for plenty of speculation here, lots of people say as long as the reflectors are still, well, reflecting and you can still see brakes, indicators and fog you should be fine, but if they want to fail you on it they could- because you can't really prove that they are not blocking out too much light.
I put standard lights on mine when it goes in for MOT, just to be safe, but I've never been pulled for my lights before.
Bottom line is, if you put your car in for MOT with tinted tails, your taking a chance.

if it just the rears i think itll pass becasue if it is you are allowed to tint these without failing an mot to the best of my knowledge, but for the fronts i dont quite know

I've got mine tinted (see pic) and they have passed but the examiner said they were touch and go and they may not pass next time. I just bought a non-tinted set from the scrappies and swap them over at MOT time.
ive seen puntos with black lights on the road before, and they don't look the sort of people to modify a car. it was a family and the punto is standard apart from lights.
you can do anything you want with your light as long as they still illuminate the right colour and you have a rear facing red reflectors best thing is get some stick on reflectors and put them on for the mot

yea i got some tinted rears on my punto, their blue tho and i got my mot coming soon aswell, im not really too worried about the light as my mate's car passed it mot every time and depending on what day it is it is proper difficult to see the rear drive lights
may aswell tint the original reflectors and add some other one at the bottom of your bumper on a bracket hangin down or in your window

just went to the scrappy and got another set il just change them before the mot thik that will be easyer was supposed to take it for mot the other day but have not been able to get off work 14 hour shifts for the last 4 days its murder...
