I'm almost certain I saw it on here but now I can't find it. Web, best I can find is values for a 188 A.4.

This is a pre 2533527 1.2 8v. Got a 'phone app ready!

Anyone know the tune?!

Earlier engine are tensioned by a pendulum type gadget

Later engine by a indicator built into the tensioner

Frequency method was only for around 2 years as far as I know

This is the early engine. The frequency method is so simple - it's how I set up yacht rigs.

If there were a work around for the tension measurer I'd use it, but sorely tempted to use the a.4 frequency.

There's at least 4 different ways to time the 1.2 8v fire engines they were production a long time mid 80s till a few years ago and underwent several modifications

Frequency is the correct method for your engine

Square cap pre 2533527

Should have the narrow belt 15mm not the more common 22mm

Early engines are 188A4000

Thanks again! If you listen hard around lunchtime tomorrow you may hear me hitting the note.

Took flipping ages, bottom rad hose was a pig to coax off. And why does the back alternator bolt need counterholding in this century? Used two frequency apps and got it within 2Hz. So simple! Came down from workshop to home and about halfway back there was a horrific zizzing. Obviously a stray 6mm bolt under the belt cover. Actually a wooden handled screwdriver between fan and housing. I was sure I'd checked everything back onto the bench....
