General Time for a stainless steel exhaust!

What other section?

The thread i started in the lets talk fiat section on the new exhaust. I confused the issue apparantly, by maybe putting too much information and thoughts down at once.

Anyway, it doesnt matter anymore. The performance has improved a lot since it was first fitted and so it is no longer a problem. Interesting to learn that exhausts sometimes do need bedding in!

I think I am going to continue reading into it though.

Thanks again,

Big problem Si is that things like head gasket etc is pure guesswork unless it's obvious or the car is in front of you. The 735 had the mayo on the oil cap all the time when used for short journeys which had nothing to do with the headgasket and was just moisture and most other cars are exactly the same.

If there was lots of mayo on the dipstick or oil in the coolant i would say yes def headgasket but if not would take the car for a 10-20 mile run and then see what's happening.

Don't be too rushed to accept someone's opinion cause that's all it is unless they have checked the car themselves. We can all get it wrong occasionally :)

Yes agreed there. I have checked everything I can now to decide whether it is the head gasket. And tbh, nothing seems to be out of order. I think what is best is I keep an eye out for any further signs.
Not too happy that there was still a reasonable amout of mayo on the cap even after a 50 minute drive at least. :( ( the plot thickens :p hehe). And the engine was running at a good (around normal) temperature for once aswell. I will keep you guys posted in possible head gasket blown thread anyway!!

Thanks!

Si
