tilt and turn window won't tilt or close properly

howdy.

anyone help me with this? got double glazed, 'tilt and turn' windows. Something has gone wrong with it. It'll open inwards (hinged on the top/bottom on the right hand side), but it won't tilt inwards (hinged at the bottom). When trying to tilt, the top right hinge won't let go. And when closed, the handle won't turn all the way into the lock position.

Any ideas?

not sure if it helps but we got a fir round here that repairs double glazed units, and their mechanisms, might be worth trawling yelllow pages up there for the same?

We've an identicle one on our landing (fire excape onto flat roof).

We've always seem to have had problems with closing it properly (or mum has) as the handle gets stiff towards the bottom. I manage fine with a tug, but mum struggles.

As for opening our window, both tilt and turn work fine.

Have you tried being forceful (obviously only to a point) with the handle? Does the handle go into the correct place when trying to tilt?

All my windows are stiff, sometimes I find a rythmic banging on the stuck corner whilst pulling / pushing with the handle frees the window up - a quick squirt of wd40 later and they are ok for a while.
