Grande Punto The story now, and as it continues

Introduction

EDIT Adding this photo from 4/5/2013, and removing all other pics from this first post to remove the 'ugly' ones of my car from its thumbnail ;) Haha. I'll repost this "1st" post later on :)

1st Photo courtesy of benny279. Cheers pal!

EDIT 2: Decided not to repost, did do, but it looked odd. So plain deleted. Old naff standard 1.4 GP Sound on steel trims anyway ;) Not missing much, but the progression can still be seen.
the beam pattern is allot more with the osrams, you will notice the difference, as for fitment, they will only fit in one way :) if you look inside the headlight on the bulb its self there is a little 'cap' inside the bulb
NBPINTRO5.JPG

if you put the bulb its side (asif its fitted in the headlight) the 'silver cap' should be on top.

Not really sure if that makes sence haha...

edit: if you rotate that image clockwise (to the right ;) ) thats how the headlight should look in your headlight.

Rotate the image anti-clockwise, thats how they are fitted in my car atm. Ni-on impossible to get them in the other way around. The wiring block would have to to a 180 degree turn for it to be mounted that way. Am i interpreting the 'cap' as the same bit you are, the little 'curved dish' bit? In mine the three prongs only fit into the unit one way, so thats correct. Then the entire surround unit has those three prongs, which sit flush with the light itself, then that little metal clasp clamps down on the back of it holding it in. I did one bulb at a time, and checked it with the OEM one on the passenger side as i did it. It matched all the way. So i'm confused. The little 'curved dish' resembles a spoon rather than a hat. If that makes sense  Ahhhh

They are both in, and they are both secure now. It's just when i put the lights on to test they actually come on they the drivers side was a completely different light disperse pattern to the passenger side. IDK, i'm just nervous changing things like this, don't want to (a) blind other drivers and (b) have difficulty with my lights whilst needing them.

it is possible to get them in on the wonk.... ;)

If you have fitted new headlamps they might need setting up Pop into a local friendly MOT station and offer Beer tokens / pack of jaffa cakes to one of the mechanics to slap it on the alignment machine

But the 3 prongs around the outer metal circumference only 'fit' one way, thats the way they are in?

Throwing out a tandem line, i want to replace the interior light, what bulb fitting do i search for? Anyone know of the top of their head? Want to get a neon blue (or red?) one.

No, not new light unit yet. Fitting the Abarths at the Feb meet possibly with yours and dom's help (MAYBE i said!). For the time being i've just put the Osram's in my standard headlights that are in.

some clear pictures in there as to how it should look

you can get them in slightly wrong where the base will not sit quiet flat.....

So my early morning wash in preparation for tomorrow was cancelled by the sight of this out my bedroom window first thing this morning. *sigh*

(Love the old couch sat on the garden)

I got this close to washing her, then bailed as my hands were cold. Snowfall got really heavy after this photo also, and continued for 3-4 hours. Hey, atleast my winter steelies are fully justified now....and i haven't been sliding around, like i would in my alloys.

i used to have an old sofa in my garden but i put an old tv opposite it as well for comedy value.

Funnily enough we actually have an old coffee table in the garage, and an old 'box' tv from a few years ago haha. If i'd thought about it, could have set up a propper outside living room :p

Update: Osram Nightbreaker+ are unbelievable replacements for GP headlights. Absolutely love them, even without main beam on unlit country lanes they are amazing, and then full beam is just EPIC. Recommended, definitely definitely recommend them to anyone!

Few quick snaps from Trafford Italian Car Meet. Good turnout, and a great night. My car was filthy by the time i'd driven up there....as expected. Oh well.

Myself & Reuuk rockin' our winter steels GP style...

Then he beat me to what i wanted to do. Not to be outdone atleast i was second best

Thats all for now. tempz, i'll get the spoiler on soon

you ever thought of Vinyl'ing the door section between the side windows?

also i hope that spoilers on by now!

The spoiler has to be on by the next Trafford meet..........no excuses :p

Don't fancy vinyling that bit between. I like it blank. Also, for the spoiler whats that stuff used to bond it down....forgotten the name already :p

I'm petrified to try it. I know i'll stick it on wonky, or a fraction to far over to one side.

But yeah, thats the stuff. I need to give the spoiler one more coat now though, as its been lightly scratched been left in the garage grrr.

Bite the bullet i think, but i'm not going to...not yet :D

Pictures are worth a thousand words

Couple of photo's. More can be seen in my gallery of the day. Epic day, great meal, great cars, great company and just a great day. I look forward to the next one!
