For what it’s worth I’ve had a 500 on loan with that mild hybrid three-cylinder engine, and it would be a brave man driving on on a single carriageway who attempted to overtake anything going faster than a milk float.
EU emissions regs have a lot to answer for.

That mild hybrid three-cylinder engine is fine for urban driving, and nothing else. 
It’s smooth, it’s quiet, but it’s glacially slow.
Are they really putting that in the 4x4?

What else would they use?
The fire engines out of production
Fiat are stopping selling diesels in anything other then commercials
So that only leaves them with the firefly engines

Give the Firefly some miles and it greatly improves just like TA and 1 2 do.

I'm also pleased to say that the current shape has been retained. There has been many posts here speculating a new body and a totally revised vehicle. Why change something that works? The Panda and 500 work and have been a success for Fiat no matter what some negative people think. The mild changes done are sensible, and I'll say that many are perfectly happy with the performance of their 1.2s and will be with the hybrid plus the improved fuel consumption. Once the engine loosens and light carbonisation occurs in the head and exhaust manifold power does go up. So let's see how they perform after 6 to 10000 miles.

It reads like a brochure - only salient points are: 3-cylinder Fireply engine with 70HP plus starter/generator that adds about 5HP - big deal; six speed boxes for all - won't tempt me to "upgrade" from current 4x4 TA.

The mildest of work-overs for a car that is already very long in the tooth. Even the 'new' bumpers are from the old 4x4/Trekking. It's just as well, for sales, that PSA are ending production of the C1 and 108, and VWAG are phasing out their petrol-powered City cars.
It seems that all-electric is the future for small cars. The weight penalty of having a petrol engine and batteries is just too great, not to mention the space constraints. Such a shame, as the combination of a small, relatively light footprint and an efficient, revvy petrol engine is such a delight.

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating, but my experience of the three-pot hybrid is that it just doesn't feel torquey enough for a 4x4 application. It also looks like the standard 4x4 has been deleted, you have to have the cartoonish "Cross" if you want four wheel drive?
Nice to see CarPlay implemented, the old head unit in the Panda was a disgrace in 2020, but it does look like a bit of a lash-up.

I wonder if that 6-speed gearbox will have any effect on the turning cicle.

Did have on the 100HP with longer 4-pot engine - marginal on TA with short twin-cylinder - unless there's a version with 90 HP or more i'm not too interested.

Based on Italian information i had, i decided not to wait for it, because the information said that most models only get the Mild Hybrid 3 cilinder engine.
Apparently the 4x4's will still use the TwinAir 85.
My hope was that the new Sport would get the new 3T 999cc 3 cylinder 120hp engine.
