The end for max power

The end for max power

 Nokia don't have anything that even remotely compares to an Ipad.

Oh please, like you can carry around that all day.

I have an N97 mini and my Ipod touch pisses all over it. Nokia apps are 5hite.

Wow, I never knew the apple master race touch could take calls?

And the apps work fine. We do have a youtube and iplayer as well. Not to mention not needing itunes to dictate we use mp3 or aac. My 5800 takes wma as well and the music player works fine, not to mention the phone fits nicely in the hand. I'll say the browser was great to use until I found it kept exiting on it's own, so I had to use the opera mini browser. that works fine.

Only thing it's missing is this.

and while amusing it not worthing forking out more so something that you can't take back if your sweat turns a indicator red.

Yep i do, gonna read nuts instead :)

Assuming there's something readable in that drivel.

Its a Netbook that just so happens to have the ability to make calls. Nokia dont currently offer anything that does this as far as im aware.

The new Touch does have face time and Skype. But i mean everything apart from the calls.

WMA doesnt interest me in the slightest. Apple has lossless format nuff said.

My Nokia N97's sound quality of the music player doesnt even compare to apples in my Ipod with earphones. The loud speaker is better in my phone but i only use them when im in the bath. So thats what 5 times.... A year :p

I like the drag and drop for the music on the N97. It does generally organise ok but still, if you can do things properly in Itunes its organisation and findability is unparalleled.

I like the full qwerty keyboard on my phone but internet browsing is generally far superior on the Pod. I tend to browse on the pod, then go to threads or emails on my phone if i need to type a significant amount.

Apparently you can get IRC chat on the Nokia but all of the apps i have installed only let you do Yahoo Messenger etc. I want a client that allows me to specify specific chat addresses. But im not really computer literate so its probably my own fault that one.

I wonder if that rabbid thing is on android :p

Hmm, if it is then Dave you should get an LG optimus gt500!! Only £100 to buy n tis great! Can play sims 3 on it aswell :D
Although my dude went to work n died from choking on a pretzel in a meeting

Ok, I guess that works. I don't know anyone on skype or otherwise so such a feature won't be of use to me right now.

I guess that would be the apple v microsoft thing. I've always used wmas due to them being less space taking and better quality. If it works I suppose that's fine.

Loudspeakers on my 5800 are so good though I've never used the ipod. Did borrow my sister's old classic, but the sound quality for me would only be relevant if using a better pair of headphones. It seemed to be correct. After all, what good is lossless quality if one uses cheapo £1 throwaways.

Also, I use a pure mini for an external speaker. Sorted.

Drag and drop on the nokia pc suite is slick for sure, though I hate to admit they use a similar system. I've not looked at itunes for a while but the ovi player is way ahead of the old system they used for the 3300 (predecessor to the n-gage), even windows media player.

as I said, nokia's browser is functional but I got tired of it quitting at random. The opera is fine, not as fancy as an ipod alright but it gets the job done. Except with the nasty keyboard that came with the browser.

TBH, I'm not an app person. Only ones I use are iplayer, youtube and this one that's a spirit level. I don't use the sat nav. I'm sure it's good but I never get lost as I still use the old fashioned paper map. Need to get a new one mind. Hate paying to access the net just to go somewhere.

Still, ever since I went back to nokia I've never been happier. I do fancy that N8 right about now. Even if that battery is supposed to be innaccessable (it's said you can remove it but all that needs doing are a few screws and a plastic guard).

No they arent comparable. Apple lossless looses no quality WMA does. If you are not concerned with quality then WMA is good as it is of small file size. If you dont want to loose too much quality then your are better off using high bit rate MP3.

I use these earphones myself so can tell the difference.

update

The last email I sent you regarding Max Power unfortunately wasn’t a good one, but since that message I personally have been working very hard to see if we can keep the brand alive.

The key to this happening is to asses whether the market could support the title still, this is where you guys come in. I have formulated a plan to run max under a very different cost base that would enable the product to survive but the quality would not suffer. So essentially it would be Max as you know it, only under my control.

For my plan to stand a chance I would need to know if people were willing to take out a subscription as distribution at the moment is the key. What I am asking from you (as a key player in the scene) is to try to gauge/find out how many people in your club would be willing to subscribe for 12months. I would need the names and contact details of each person, I need to stress this is very serious and only people willing to stand up for this should submit their details, we cannot afford for any time wasters.

They can either email me [email protected] directly to confirm their agreement or if as club admin you wished to compile the last and send it to me that would be fine. The more we get the better chance I have of getting Max back to where it should be.

SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS
I would be looking at keeping the cost around £3.50 an issue saving over a £1 a month is the aim, maybe more. All subscribers would get exclusive offers and receive their copies first via post, so no need to get out to the shops.

Lastly the difficult part is to try and not reveal to much of this plan at the moment so if this email feels a bit light on detail it unfortunately is due to the sensitive nature of the subject.

Many thanks for you time, and here’s keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm afraid that magazines of all kinds come and go. I always used to buy Custom Car back in the, yes, well, the least the better about that, but that appeared and then disappeared. Since those days many more have come and gone and it will always be that way.

There have been many that have stayed the course, such as Autocar, Autosport, Motor Sport and the like. More recently, Car was the enfant terrible of the '70s and in turn spawned two other magazines, one of which has survived, but the other went to the wall a few years ago. I'm talking about Bike and Truck magazines.

Bauer Media own a range of magazine titles, including Bike. Big publishers like that tend not to look at their range of titles like the readers do, but simply as a series of commodities, like rice or vegetable oil. If one title isn't performing as well as it might; they just stop selling it and find something more profitable to print.
