These "green lanes" are the type that give off-roaders a bad name because they are just rutted bog holes which get ripped apart easily.

:

That's true, most of forest lanes at the coast side are permanently wet/muddy therefore you don't need many Landy's to get them badly rutted, trial bikers are the worse as they cut thru with fully open throttle.

I think both parties are to blame in most cases, but nothing makes more mess than a careless group of large-type 4x4 drivers down a muddy puddled lane. It's a constant discussion on the GLASS forums.

Even though we have a good group of off road enthusiasts within our forum now, I think we are all very considerate when driving the lanes. It's really great that this type of event has brought us all together as well :)

Just a quick lane mock-up starting from North end of Rudland Rig.

All passable in Panda ( TBC ) and legal for motor vehicles.

Pretty long distance, can be shortened if required.

Would have to start the Rudland middle of day 2, stay over night at Rosedale Abbey campsite and head on to Runswick bay from early morning.

Nice work Jacob,

The wiggly one arrowed after Rudland has been blocked by farmers, we've tried that before. The one to the North of Rudland is the "death road", not for the faint hearted...

Heading down Rudland from north to south would mean we would be going up the really rocky bit (the opposite way to how it's shown in my video). I haven't tried driving up it before, don't get me wrong I'm well up for trying but those rocks are big and viscous! Apart from this there looks to be many options for routs around the east coast.

How long are we planning on allowing for this trip?

Andyholli mention 3 days for whole trip. Rudland Rig itself if tackled from N to S will take 1/2 day minimum. I don't know if 1 1/2 is enough for. The other paart. Of the journey.

Shall we get a list together of attendees for this event then and get in in the diary for April? I am happy to work around which ever date is decided.

Jacob kolza do you know which month you are planning for your meet as yet? I am thinking of going ahead my idea of a meet in the lake district next year for some green laning. I'd just like to get the calendar set so we are not all too close together with bookings

If two months between events is ok, I can define to late Q2 wich will be June (2,3rd or 4th weekend).

Edit:

As the Coast to Cost came up since then, and will place at partially at the same NY area, i'm open to swap the dates for Q3 (August ish).

Nice work lads, I Look forward to next year! Just gets dates in as soon as possible (Due to work) :( Not sure Weather i'd be attending the Coast to Coast as I'm not sure my Sisley would be about to survive as it's my daily as well. I'm planning on Going to Panda Raid 2017 so got to save up and do some work. Although It would be a great test! :D

The Panda 4x4 Off Road Club Italia - International Meeting 2016 is 17/18/19 June - see here: http://www.panda4x4.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=13510

Anyone thinking of going?

I'm out for this year but if you are wanting to attend give Mirko kestrel4x4 a shout. I'd like to plan another trip over there for 2017, the last was epic.

Thanks for the info Jacob we'll reserve June for your meet. Don't worry about running some of the same trails as the weather can change everything :)

I'll save my meet until later in the year then. Freddy panda1408 are planning on doing September time again for a meet?

:yeahthat:

This year was epic, but it can be costly overall, so I'll be giving 2016 a miss and doing 2017 all being well. I think most of us who went this year were of the same opinion also.
