General Staffordshire and Peak District 4x4 Weekend - 24th and 25th September

4WDPandamonium We will take things steady on the lanes and if there is anything you don't fancy we will sort out an alternative route, we have a few mk4 Pandas coming so I don't think you will be alone in not wanting to damage paintwork!

We'll be in Buzz (Barbara's Cross), will be interesting to see how it compares.
Do we need to bring a packed lunch?

Wether is in our favour aka. dry Saturday till late night and muddy Sunday

Tonight:

This evening will be bright and pleasant and there will be a dry overcast night. It will become breezy in the early hours. Minimum Temperature 11 °C.
Saturday:

Tomorrow will stay dry and bright, though it will be rather windy. It will feel quite warm for the time of year in spite of the breeze. Maximum Temperature 21 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Heavy rain will sweep though on Saturday night and this will be followed by some heavy blustery showers on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday look like being wet and windy too.

Yes, a packed lunch is a good idea! I have a slightly different route for the shiny vehicles, the trade off is it is a slightly more technical drive so should be a good test for the mk4s.

Good for tomorrow then, but we may have trouble getting out of the field on Sunday!

Woo-hoo! Excited now, although currently sitting at the airport awaiting her highness so not much rest before tomorrow.

I was going to try to fix my propshaft this week but then I remembered that I'm a mechanical imbecile so I decided to leave it - wouldn't want to risk missing out! I did fit my MK 1 grille though, had to use some universal mounts (aka cable ties) on the bottom but it's on. I even checked the oil, hark at my preparedness.

i dont think i am going to be able to make it guys. i got called into work today.. and i really need a few days off. fallout has not even had any TLC for a long time.. add the fact that i really wanted to bring my brother along too, but he is at work... oh and i still have no brake down cover... the list goes on.

i was really hoping i would have had fallout on better front suspension (new dampeners and uprated springs) by now.

Extraordinary day, thank you Freddy and family, for the warm, generous hosting, once again. It's lovely to spend time with you all.

In hindsight - having survived the slightly anarchic, Mad Max, mildly intimidating 'Let's OFF ROAD' bunch. It was great!

I know I'm boring myself saying this again - but these simple, small, cars, continue to impress me on days like today. - Yes they can go up (usually) and down bits of steep planet but what's more impressive is how they can deliver FUN.

A bunch of people having a great time, brought together by a car.

Amazing.

Thanks for a great weekend apart from towing the caravan out of the mud, the most stressful part of the weekend was the traffic on the M6 south! See you next year if you do it again.
Keith

If it was as bad as on the M6 north then you have my sympathy! Good to meet you, and all the others I haven't met before - great couple of days fun with lovely people.
