General Staffordshire and Peak District 4x4 Weekend - 24th and 25th September

Another successful weekend I hope everyone would agree!

Back down to reality today and now time to say a huge thanks to everyone who came and made it the weekend it was! I am always amazed the huge distances and trouble people will go to to spend the weekend in a muddy field, just because of some little Italian cars! Long may it continue!

I will say special thanks to AndyPanda4x4 and Freebo for acting as lead vehicles, the split group system on Saturday seemed to go work well after we got over the initial chaos! Sunday went mostly to plan and I hope everyone enjoyed playing in the quarry, certainly looked like it to me!

Apologies to anyone I didn't get chance to say goodbye to before they left and I hope everyone got home safely. There is only one question now, when and where is the next one...?

As some of us don't use faceblog here is one of thr first stright from press.

More will follow but more editing time required.

Allow me to echo a massive thanks to Freddy and Jon for being excellent hosts - you guys really do know how to look after folk.

We arrived back safely and in excellent time up the M1, and a sudden crash back down to reality (after cleaning the car of course! )

The Saturday worked really well with the two split groups, something I will be adopting on my next meeting for sure!

The evening do was brilliant as always, it's something that your meet really stands out for Freddy; allowing us all to stay together and relax without feeling guilty about boring people with continuous Panda chatter.

The Sunday was brilliant, it really allowed people to go for it, get muddy and see what their cars can really do - I think another day like this needs to be on the cards for next year!

I only took the odd photo but got plenty of footage - the video is almost complete for those following on my YouTube channel.

So to the future; where are we going next? Well as a few may have grasped, Si is planning a meet in the south for next year, Jacob has plenty more up his sleeve but would like to hold out until other commitments are complete first. Freddy has the September area slot but between now and then I'm open to suggestion! Andy H andyholli have you any plans that you would like to put in place? As far as I am concerned, we still have plenty more of Yorkshire to discover - but it's upto you guys when you want to do it! Is another meet before Christmas required? Or shall we hold out until early 2017 and cross our fingers for some snow? I'd like you guys to let me know what you'd like to do now that the bug is fresh!

Oh and some more food for thought, recent research has come up with this...

One more video of the staffordshire off road course on Sunday...I have more video but this was quick to upload and shows the course...looks so much flatter in this video though!...

Will try to get more spectator type videos next time. I think you get more of an appreciation when filming from outside the car

I got about the same distance up the second time sadly. This video was basically right at the end as a long way out of the quarry! I had to try that hill one more time though, or it would have bugged me for ages! Bit more speed and it would have gone up I think...

Will be getting on the next off road session planning very soon :D

My vid's done guys, enjoy!

I didn't get as much footage as I'd have hoped, but I think we're all in there :)

Great video Andy, I didn't get to see as much of everyone else on the day so really good to get a chance to see how everyone else got on...I got stuck in the woods for a bit with a slight breakdown which I think cost a bit of my viewing time!

Andy, it is not that bad when you look on the prices and split them per person per night.
There are two campsites withing 2 miles away from the farm.

Agreed, I think it would be a good option for a long weekend. I'll get in touch with them and see what they have to offer. I'd be looking to do an event like this for April time next year I think.

Ian Edwards (he of GTFM radio show & Panda nut) wants to do a Panda meet in Wales the week after the Restoration Show in April (8th ish?). He's been badgering for ages!

It might be worth trying to do something in conjunction with him? He's a complete nutcase, really enthusiastic, and would be able to assist no end with local sheep liaison I'm sure! No seriously if you're thinking April get him involved. (y)

Make sure it's not the Resto show weekend, as we need Pandas & tech knowledge there!
