Hi,
Just incase anyone is still after the sports model, I noticed tonight that it is back on the Fiat configurator.

Personally, I still cannot decide which model to have. My 2 local dealers have not sold any of the new twinair or twinair models, has anyone seen any on the roads.

My ideal car would have the satin chrome dash & inserts plus the sports seats from the twinair and the roof, split rear seats and Volare blue from the lounge.

It appears I would have to wait about 3 months or more to order one, but still wouldnt be able to have Volare blue.

Im not all that keen on the twinair colours and keep hoping that a new colour may pop up.

I think it's unlikely that another colour will pop up anytime within the next 6 months sadly.

The sport was discountinued in April - Fiat are just slow and haven't removed it from their website. It's a shame that they haven't included the Volare Blue in the TwinAir options (only the lounge), but they didn't deem it sporty enough! The midnight indigo is a nice colour though - I saw one in a sheffield showroom a month or so back.
Why not consider getting BNW as a colour your car re-sprayed a custom colour after it's been delivered? There are companies out there that specialise in doing those types of things :)

I've just had a nosey at the fiat.it site and configurator - I was interested to note that the italians get 2 0 cost paint colours - "Vernice giallo birichino (pastello extraserie)" (BNW) and "Blu Bastian Contrario(pastello)" .

Just been to my local dealer and he cannot understand why the sport model is back on the configurator. He says its only re-appeared in the last couple of days. He's tried to order one, but the computer will not let him.

He is going to check on Monday, but im not counting on it.

As previously posted the Sport model is no longer available to order. When the Sport model could be got you couldn't get it in Volare Blue.
So you have 2 options:
1. Lounge TA in Volare Blue
2. different colour in the 'Twin Air'. Flojo's suggestion of midnight indigo sounds good and suits the satin trimmings and sporty finish once you are ok about the black alloys.

I know we all ,or most on here are loyal to Fiat ,but you would think in 2011with the speed of technology Fiat could update the configurator especially when the sport was de-listed 5 months ago..:bang:

Perhaps there are still a number of unsold sport models around in the system.

According to the configurator you can now order the 'Twin Air' with alloys that are not black. However the choice is still limited with only the 15" Sport Alloys offered as an option on the 'Twin Air' and the 7 holes with spokes on the 'Twin Air Plus'.

Actually, you could order the sport in volare blue, when the sport was still available.

My 1.4 Sport arrived on 19 April after a 10 week wait, and it is Volare Blue. (see 'Enzo' in members motors):)

After posting that yesterday I remembered your 1.4 Sport in the Volare Blue.
When I was looking to get a scrappage 500 last March the Volare Blue wasn't available in Ireland on the 1.2 Sport (1.4 Sport was dropped in 2010). This is the link. If the 1.4 had been available is was an extra €2K !
I reckon your particular model might end up being a bit of a rarity. (y)

When I saw this change I thought that it was a smart move given the restricted market for black alloys. But I was disappointed when I saw the 'standard' alloy choice particularly on the Twin Air plus but then I haven't seen them in the 'flesh'.

Most people simply don't care about wheels. Loads of people happily drive about on pop wheels and even more people are happy with the rather boring standard lounge wheels.

Tell me, are the wheels the only thing that's different between the pop and the lounge? :)

The OP is looking for a TA. I could be wrong on this but if one was paying £1,200 for a TA over a 1.2 I would imagine that the majority of them would be looking for alloys to go with the 'sporty' engine. It would be interesting if one could get some statistics from Fiat on how many TAs were sold with steelies when the TA Pop was available.

According to my dealer, wheels are something that men care about. Most girls aren't too bothered. In my household that's definitely true. The 'Twin Air' models IMO are targetted at men which implies wheels do matter at least for these models...

You didn't answer my question though. What I'm trying to say is that perhaps wheels weren't the only reason why the pop TA got killed off. It could be that if someone buys a TA then they're likely to want things which are included as standard in the lounge model, or Fiat wanted to position the twinair as being a premium model rather than bargain basement.

What i'm saying is that it's not necessarily anything to do with the wheels.
