Hi

Has anyone any experience of using this fuel in a Doblo 1.9 JTD? Honest John in the Saturday Telegraph is always going on about how good it is and I just wondered if those of you who really know had views on the subject. Is it worth giving it a try?

Thanks

TJE

i tried some of this the other wk from my local shell stn makes my doblo go like apsolute stink!,

the only problem is you flex the pedal more an it doesnt last long!!!, as usual its about 7 pence more a litre than regular diesel but fun for a quick thrill but too expensive for regular use imho!

Don't know about Shell V but, when BP introduced 'Ultimate Diesel' I ran my Iveco Daily on it exclusivley for about 1500 miles. It made absolutely no difference to the mpg of the van or the 'feel' of the engine. I was somewhat disappointed as in the past we used to gert at least 20 extra miles per tank fulll when we ran our Mondeo on 'posh' petrol compared to normal unleaded.

Shell V may keep the engine internals clean but I feel that it may only be of significant benefit to engines that do lots of short journeys, long distance engines tend to keep themselves clean in my experience.

been up and down with my experiances with shell v and bp ultimate have now settled on standard diesel all seem to be the same tesco sainsburys bp with a shot of "millers sport 4" definately gives a better burn and mpg and injectors free of crud.

cheaper than ultimate and v power.

I put 'Ultimate' petrol in my Diesel one dark day and had to have the thing flushed out and go through various hoops to get reimbursed by BP - they have a dedicated helpline for Ultimate buyers who do this. Now I never go near a BP forecourt as I don't trust myself not to make the error again. Shell ordinary is expensive enough for me, and good fuel.

Even Shell dont make any performance improvement claims for V Power...

Its a placebo thing, you think it will so it does.... there are other factors at work IMO (imagination, driving style change....)

VPower diesel doesnt make your engine work any better except for its claimed cleaning capability if you believe the hype.
