Hi 500 lovers!

I got a Fiat 500 Sport (1.3 MJT2, 95hp, 2010) and yesterday when I started the car (the engine was medium hot) it started correct but the servo didn't work. Strange. Turn the engine off and then on again and the servo worked. After that I drove away on the highway. I was driving kind of fast, but not aggressive. When I stopped the engine was very laud (but the rpm as under 900). I turned the engine off and on again. Still very laud. Did it one more time and the engine was back to normal. It feels like the computer in the car went crazy. Do anyone else had these "features" sometimes?

One thing linking the diesel engine with the brake servo is the vacuum pump, which is an engine-driven pump that creates vacuum to power (among other things, probably) the brake servo.

Perhaps your vacuum pump has a problem, and was the cause of the weird sounds. If it's belt-driven, maybe the belt tension is wrong. Did you look under the bonnet (hood) when the engine was making the strange sound to find out what it could be?

Edit: Incidentally, I'm talking about vacuum pumps in general - the Fiat one might be different in some way from others I've seen. perhaps it's not belt-driven, for example. Here's what it might look like:

Thanks for the reply!

Maybe I was unclear. I meant that the servo for the steering. Not breaking (thank god). Well, I gonna check in my car at a local Fiat dealer in 3 weeks to check out the speakers (back) because the sound horrible. So, then they could check out this problem to.

Do anyone know how to check the version of the software for the computer? (who is controlling everything). Maybe it's a upgrade I need.
