you should get the mk1 bumper, it looks better* and is correct for the year..

*awaits the barage of posts stating the later bumpers are better

yeah i know, but have my heart set on a late one. I think they look like the abarth one should do!

After all the TLC i have lavished on her over the weekend, i'm sure i will be forgiven for giving a slightly chunkier looking front!!!!

Have Mk1 bumper on my Sei, looks good in matt black and with everything else being stripped down, however on a car with the sideskirts, i think the late one will suit.

Not quite the barage you anticipated, but its a start and hope its' friendly enough!

How come you have removed a headlight? missed that bit if you have said

Headlight was removed to check and alter cam timing.

Upon removal, it rattled like a, errr urgh ummm, ah yes.... Rattle!

So it wasnt fitted.

The jap style headlamp removal for extra HP is a great idea, but mines on the wrong side. I am going for HP through cambelt cooling and a little bit of cool air to the rad header tank! Its all the rage.... Soon you will see Jap cars with no headlights. > One rmoved for induction and the other to cool their header tank and cambelt. Only problem is that you will see most of them wrapped round trees, as they couldnt see where the flock they were going!

Well done for being so observant AppleSei, i will send you a well used headgasket and rocker cover as the Prize!!!! (y)

You may have to modify it to fit, When I had my old MK2 blue SX I put a MK1 sporting kit on and it wasn't a direct fit.

Just a heads up, I might be wrong as it made be a straight fit for the newer styling.

Thanks

Or they just fit a Celica GT4 type bonnet vent (for anyone who has ever wondered what the little forward facing raised section to the side of the large central vent on a GT4 bonnet was for) as this is used to cool down the camblet :)

And i thought that I knew too much random stuff.

Thanks for that! May work better than removing both headlamps!

evo bud not saying your wrong but i beg to differ ... being a GT owner myself and hanging round with a GT4 owner and posting on their forum every so often iirc its for Alternator cooling if have a look under the bonnet the alternator has a piece of standard fit ducting running into the alternators windings the engine bay temps on the fours can run quite high and due to the charge cooler and mainly the lack of space in the bay toyota decided to put ducting in.

The alternator is at front of the engine bay the vent from the bonnet feeds into a plastic apperture at back of cam cover next to oil filler cap, this is to cool down the cam belt at high rpm, when engines are on test beds cambelt temps are one of the things they monitor closly and Toyota must have thought it got too hot.

The alternator does have a tube going away from it, but it goes down to the plastic lower engine cover.

Pop your bonnet and look. The engine bay has loads of space, look at an intgrale engine bay if you want to see packed, working on the Toyota is easy in comparisson.

I post on the GT4 owners club under same user name :)

As an aside I have just sold my GT4 after covering 24K in it in 18months, loved it, but time to move on and replaced it with No243of500 Clio Trophy's. I had pretty much everything on mine that is considered very desirable, projector headlamps, TRD seats never seen them in any car, genuine Toyota MOMO steeering wheel, again never seen in any other GT4, Blitz Access, C-One front and rear bumpers, etc etc the list goes on. I'll need to change my SEGA Rally thing in signature.
