All said and done, it's a sound shell with some mechanical bits that could be transferred/sold on. Good basis for a 1.4 16v? The ET issue would seem to show that the previous issue either had few braincells and/or wasn't a member here! ;)

But I sympathise with your angst at the carnage done to a poor, innocent, inanimate object.

Incidentally, the window damage just seems to happen -- Seis are more prone to it than Cinqs and -- someone posted recently -- the door glass is the same.

The main reason for this thread is the way that uninsured drivers treat their cars.

It is bad enough to be driving round in a car without insurance, but to drive around without insurance in a vehicle that is so obviously bodged is completely unacceptable.

I know times are hard for everyone, but this is no excuse for taking liberties with other peoples' lives.

After seeing the worrying state of the front wheels. It is highly likely that this car could have braked, lost a wheel and ploughed into someone, maming and possibly killing them.

If this was your mother/father, sister/brother, son/daughter, wife/husband?, who got hit by an uninsured driver with a substandard car, would you just shrug it off?

Recent stats seem to suggest that with the poor economic state of this country, 1 in 7 drivers are uninsured. Surely, anything that we (insurance paying) people can do is flag up the issue of uninsured drivers and the way they lack respect for pedestrians and other road users alike.

I dont mean to be a bore, but this is something that has seriously shocked me. I am even ashamed to admit that i drove this deathtrap home, albeit only 4 miles, but i could potentially have killed someone! (And yes, i was insured to drive it!!!!!!!)

Not meaning to grumble, but i think this is something serious.

That's pretty worrying, need to see the pics for a proper look, but I don't get how you could drive something that essentially has no wheels and not notice/care.

probably not if something had happened, scary stuff!

I was driving home from work the other day when this lad in a festa came blasting past, must have been doing well over a hundred. Well found myself following him shortly after (traffic lights off the dual carrigeway ment he got there no faster than the rest of us which is so often the case) and his rear offside wheel was wobbling really badly. I chose to follow (at distance) and question him/warn him of the problem. I was duely told i was a knob and it was just buckled and that it did not matter. Needless to say i gave him a earful but you are correct, theres lots of crazy people out there endangering all of us.

What a ****! Todays youth eh? Oh wait I'm one of them :O
But I'd never dream of talking to someone like that, I woz bought up propa innit.
I hope the wheel falls off in his drive, for his sake and everyone elses.

Very quick update ater a hard weekends grafting.

Rear hubs swapped, with new shoes, drums and handbrake cable. Everything smothered in copper grease to make life easier in the future.

Front hubs seem to be more difficult to replace than previously throught! Removed one using a puller and the outer bearing fell apart!

Decided to pinch the front hub assemblies from a spare cinq in the carpark.

Whilst i was there, i also pinched the apex springs and dampers, so now have a lowered sportier seicento!

Had two hours of swearing at the shock absorber bolts on the rear beam. - I must teach the fitters at Fiat how to use coppergrease!!!!

Set the cam timing right, as it was still 4 teeth off. Now revs up properly and has more poke, but has lost the ability to idle. Any ideas on this would be good.

For some reason, the OS drive shaft had no bearing on the inside end. Dont know why this would have been assembled like this, but i reckon the engine has been swapped at some point. Drive shaft also pinched from cinq in the car park.

Pics have been takem but left my phone in the workshop and couldnt be bothered to go back. They will be up tomorrow.

Yeah, i ran the car home on its disks and drums. Didnt even notice when i got in the car that it had no wheels. You can still see the grooves in the road.:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

The wife has nicknamed the car Robin

She seems to think its cute and fluffy.

I reckon its because this car is a Robin' B*stard!

Anyway, pics as promised.

Looks a bit better with a lowering kit on her!

(And some decent alloys with A539s to help it stop)

In for MOT as soon as the paperwork comes through and then need to get the tracking put right.

++hp like a jap drifter :p

Nice to see you're putting the effort into getting it back on to the road, most people wouldn't give a s__t!

Hi BDG

Thanks for the moral support, its not my favorite car after the weekend of abuse i took from it!

But at least i wasnt out in the rain.

It is a nice little car, will keep it for a few years and would rather it was as safe as possible for the other half to drive.
