dont stitch weld the front end stuff tbh!

I cant see why you wouldnt stitch weld.... yes it looks sh*t but its stronger than seam welding as the welds under stress can crack. Being stitch welded leaves a small amount of flex in the panels hence the weld not cracking.

It needs to be welded up regardless to prevent chassis flex as the engine would rip the engine bay to pieces if not welded...

Oh God. Not again. If the weld cracks, it's cos the weld is ****e. I'd TIG seam the mounts and any panels running crossways. The rest can probably be MIG stitched (although the MOT man would like it to be MIG or TIG spotted, first) which will give some (more) give in the event of an accident. This is (or should be) irrelevant if a cage is fitted (properly).

lol Whiley started it :p

Some good news... someones on the way to view my nova, so fingers crossed il be going fiat again.. well as soon as i can find a sei (as there is nothing on here, ebay or piston heads)

Whoo hoo, the nova sold for £2500 today so now im definaltly on the fiat route... might have got a local sporting with 12months ticket and 6 months tax for £500 (high mileage)...

Fingers crossed on that one!!

I only want the sporting so i get the nicer bumpers, as i looked for just the bumpers on ebay so i could fit them to the SX but there was nothing on there.

I really want the skirts and the spoiler from the abarth too, but i cant seem to find them either lol.

So the project begins... :D

Right good news, im collecting the car later on today :D and after calling up my insurance i was quoted an extra £85 on my 2.0 nova insurance (£430) with everything fiat related and all 2.0 mods declared :D

So i have the car, i can get the insurance, and i may have an engine come saturday :D

Il upload some pics of the donor fiat tonight when i get back... think il have a few days driving it as a tame 1.1, so i can get from A to B to collect all the steel and other misc parts i need to start the prep conversion work...

If anyone needs any standard sporting bits, pm me as around 70% of the car is going to be removed...
