Reparing a key barrel ?

I have a damaged key barrel on the diesel fuel cap.
The little nipple at the end was bent and broke when I tried to straighten it.
Any idea of repairing it ?

Is there any way to get another key barrel in a cap and some how swapping out the key shims from my one ?

I do not desire having more keys than a require so do not really want another separate key for the fuel.

Yes I have already searched but I could not find anything.

I know how to fit a new barrel but have not seen anything about transplanting the pins from one barrel to another.

I would welcome suggestions for what to put in the search.
