Technical Refitting X250 front grill panels

I know several folk have had to remove their front grills for one reason or another and I'm wondering if anyone else bothered to refit the poorly designed plastic screws and expanding rivets.

Difficult to remove and probably difficult to refit and the top grill panel which they secure is impossible to remove anyway without also taking out the 'proper' metal screw fixings.

I've left them off rather than purchase a replacement.

Hmmm that's another reason for keeping my 2006 x244. 4 off M6 Philips head screws across the top, and lift out. Was only in there last week to release the LH headlamp and improve access for a minor wiring modification.
