I bought some Redex Petrol Treatment today, and when I got home I noticed that it says on the back that it cleans carburettors. Will it still be okay for use with my mk2b 1.2L 8v Punto, even though it is fuel injected? I wish I had read the label before I bought it and threw away the receipt! :bang: Thanks for your help. (y)

Yea, you pour to the line for 1 tank. If you wanna feel extreme you can pour it directly into your engine through the throttle, it will clean the engine/create white smoke :p (I wouldn't recommend doing this but I have in the past)

so is the Bp stuff worth using in a 1997 mk1 punto 55 s 1.1L?
I put it in by mistake last year costing me alot more:p

I didnt notice any difference to the car or mpg:(

You have to use it regularly to notice any difference if you do even get any at all!

Redex is fine. I put it in my throttle body to clean it out and it's direct into the cylinders then. Clears any crap out (y)

I've used this stuff a couple of times

I've noticed my car becomes smoother when revving
I get alot less of Juddering/Jolt when i let off the throttle when i've hardly pressed it

I did at one point got a ""higher"" Mpg, but tbh it was negligible

But for 1.99 when on offer at tesco it aint that bad to put in once in its life

where you buy it from? some places take stuff back with out a receipt.

there are much better products about than redex these days

Thanks for all of your replies. :) I bought it from ASDA so I don't think I can return it now. Will it be safe to use? It might not be effective, but I just want to make sure it won't damage my car. Thank.

did this in an astra which was facing my house (poured it down the spark plug holes in the engine) turned over the engine and covered the front window, it was like watching a sam pekinpah film all this red stuff flying through the air

even took it for a spin and couldn't see anything out of the back window for smoke
if you are going to do it, do it at night when it not busy on the roads as you will make smoke for a while

Its worth going online & doing some homework here. Snake oil is a term most serious petrol heads recognise;) Google is your friend, read what the experts say. At the end of the day its a multi billion pound/dollar industry.
