Hi all. Last couple of days I’ve noticed a noise coming from the rear passenger side. The noise is like a clunk noise and It’s not consistent and happens randomly when I go over uneven surfaces on the road. I’ve checked underneath the car at the back and from the side and at first glance I can’t see anything that looks to be the cause. At first I thought it may be my exhaust that had come loose maybe but I’ve checked that and that seems to be fine. So I’m not really sure what it could be. Like I said the noise isn’t all the time but I hear it enough times to be concerned.

Any ideas?

My car is a fiat punto dynamic sport 1.4 3 dr

Does anyone have any answers or suspects what it could be? 🤷‍♂️ It’s driving me insane. Driving to and from work today and I heard it again whilst going over uneven surfaces. It sounds loose and coming from the passenger rear. It doesn’t happen every time tho which I find bizarre

I have a similar problem with noise coming from the rear passenger side. They're called children!

In all seriousness, it's nigh on impossible for anyone to give you a specific answer on the limited information you provided. If I were to hazard a guess I would wager it's something suspension related. Try to get the car up on a ramp so you can inspect parts in the area where you believe the noise to be coming from. Check shocks and springs, and wiggle the road wheel and suspensions parts. If you see any serious play then that's likely to be your culprit. For example, suspension part bushings wear with age resulting in more play and a clunking noise when you go over uneven surfaces. Similarly springs are prone to breaking, again resulting in clunking.
