Dear All,

I hope you are well.

WHILE Driving in a 50 miles h road I just drove on a wiper blade and heard a bang and loud noise or rolling metal.

I found out that the internal wiper metal plate just punctured the car :(

A garage checked the bottom and said that no damage as been done to other parts (I was worried about the metal flipping and cutting tubes or wires).

But he said that he has to remove the plastic side bumper to see underneath to check for additional damage. (I removed the metal plate , it was in for about 5/10 cm not more)

Do you know how to get the side bumper out ?

I can see there there are some clips but I do not want to force it before asking for help.

Thank you in advance.

And thank you for all the support you gave me before.

Eh up

I believe you remove the push button clips on the underside of the cill, then the cill is held on by body clips along the inner side, it’s a case of popping these off .

I would hazard a guess it’s a pig of a job but you’ll need more new body clips as no doubt these will break,

I think its highly unlikely to have damaged anything. Its not a thick enough thing to have done so and if it was, it would have broken the sill cover. It should unclip, and you will be able to see any damage but you will almost certainly need a new clip, There are no pipes or wires under the cover its just a styling thing. THe worst case is a scratched sill, and some Dinitrol wax os similar sprayed up there should amply resolve this. You could try a USB camera that you can plug into yu phone to inspect under there too. Just give the old bit of wiper a hard tug (maybe wear gloves)… clearly it’s just lodge in a pre-existing hole in the trim panel. As TPN says there’s nothing behind that plastic except the metal sill. You are more likely to cause more issues trying to remove that trim panel :)
Mole grips - or even simply snip it off flush if it won't come.

How are those Evergreen tyres OP?
