Battery low, Pandas do it was well

If you've done a lot of short journeys it doesn't always charge enough.

Take it for a proper Italian Tune up and that should sort it out, prepare to buy a new battery for the winter

Does your car have Bluetooth?
Possibly new battery
Certainly a new engine earth strap
If Bluetooth now not working this the issue

This happens when one or more of the computer modules on the car has stopped communicating properly.

Common causes can be:

a failure in the wiring loom (usually at the point the loom enters the rear hatch)
a failure in one of the computer modules - the Blue&Me module in particular frequently fails
a spurious voltage spike corrupting one of the modules

Sometimes, but not always, this will be accompanied by other warning lights.

You cannot fix the flashing mileage issue by carrying out an 'italian tune up' or by operating some prescribed combination of controls. It needs to be reset using an approproate software tool connected to the OBD2 port and carrying out the proxi alignment procedure.

If there is a hardware or wiring fault, you will need to fix this first before the proxi alignment procedure will work.

How do I do a Proxy Alignment?
You connect an appropriate tool to the car's OBD2 port.

Franchised dealers will us examiner to do this; likely cost around £100 if no other work is required; the DIY alternative is a licenced copy of MES, which will also need appropriate cables and a windows laptop; similar cost if you already have the laptop (but you get to use it multiple times!).

Some higher end code readers may also be able to do this, but cheap code readers aimed at the DIY market won't.

An independent Fiat specialist should have an appropriate tool, most independent general garages probably won't.

It's possible that someone on the forum with a copy of MES may be able to help you out. Check the MultiEcuScan register on this forum.

If the battery has been disconnected, does the clock need to be reset before the mileage will stop flashing?
Just a thought as my 2015 500 flashes the mileage after disconnecting the battery….

A flashing mileage indicates one or more ecus are not talking to each other, generally it's only cured by using Fiat software on a laptop, battery off on often doesn't cure it.
