Seeing as I haven't updated this thread in a while here's an update for you guys

Took this picture last night, loving my headlights:


I thought I'd take a new picture of my interior, I think I've done well

Well it was some time ago you had your MK2?

No not yet and still debating on that, after having ago at some guy for whacking his door on my door at a Tesco's car park I think it might be a bad idea?

Although going to take front wheels off and paint the brake callipers red to match the rear drums that are also red :slayer:

I will be honest I did have to replace one bulb on those headlights which makes it look odd but gonna change the passenger side one this weekend, these bulbs maybe illegal for normal use but i've been behind so many police cars and they don't give a monkeys obviously when it comes to MOT time I'll put standard ones in No doubt at the next trafford meet you'll spot me a mile off with these headlights haha!

Thanks for the tip man! I've also got rid of that annoying passenger side wiper blade, everytime it rained and turned the wipers on that side always sounded like a finger nail against an old chalk board!

Out with the old in with new:

She's a little dirty in this picture, thanks to the lovely weather...

The wiper blade below is obviously the old one, I think it was long gone So I now have two bosch wiper blades! No horrible sound on the passenger side everytime I put on the wipers cause of our beloved british weather

And I went to Ashby Follville the other day and got a nice staggering 60.3mpg did go as high as 63mpg but dropped due motorway traffic lol.

Seeing as this thread hasn't been updated for over two weeks now, I have decided to do more work on the car starting from this week and weeks to come!

Plans:

• DRL's (Daytime Running Lights) - Should receive these either tomorrow or Friday at the latest
• Respraying center console & handbrake/gear knob trim a gloss black, the same black as the car is which I have the code for!
• Respraying Stereo facia the same gloss black, most likely do the dashboard cluster trim that goes round it which I'm sure people know what I'm talking about
• And much more!!!!

Will post pictures during the work and obviously I'll take a picture of the DRL's once they are fitted! Until then laters

are you headlights clear then ? on my mk2 i have bright white bulbs in and they still look yellow ish, and i even fitted blue bulbs and they wasn't blue at all, confusing haha

Yeah I finally got rid of my old headlight units that made my lights look yellow, these units are clear as I need them to be and as you can see a picture a few posts up with normal beam and full beam on it gives off that nice blue light.

And when you say you fitted blue bulbs, do you mean LED's? As that is what I have used on mine.

all lenses are clear on the mk2's...

its the bulbs that change the colour of beam

Reuuk gave me the headlight units For the colour of the lights I'll see if I got a picture of the packaging so you can buy some, they should make your lights white.

Not if the headlight units were dirty as mine that came with the car I'm surprised I never got an adult version of the naughty step by the police for it

But in theory your right the lenses are clear on all MK2's but depending on the condition of the unit's themselves.

A bird decided to fly into one of mine and cracked it :bang: so now I have one very clear and shiny one and one that I thought was clear and shiny till I saw it next to the new one lol

Haha yeah just the noise of it scared the crap outta me!

You haven't heard the best bit yet, hit a bird and cracked it so I went home and ordered a new headlight, 2 days later another bird hit the same headlight and completely destroyed it!!! Haha got to laugh about it now though, got the new one fitted the day after. Just can't believe I hit 2 in 2 days

Received my LED's this morning that my intention was to use them as DRL's (Daytime Running Lights), fitted them and I think they look great!

Here's a picture of the final touch...



Next week I will be fitting the induction kit (finally!) as I've got round to ordering the necessary stuff for it as in silicone elbow, oil breather tube, etc.

Shall post pictures and maybe a video next week when it's all fitted, hopefully I'll find some spare time to do it as I start College next week!

Before anyone asks NO I don't have orange headlights, I just put the hazards on and took the picture and it looked coooool
