Sylvia is a bit nervious as the mot man is going to have a good poke at her tomorrow morning at ten past nine... I had to stick a headlight switch in her and tighten up the hand brake this afternoon in the carpark outside the shop and this little old lady came up to me and asked 'Is sylvia sick?' lol!

Good luck.

The passenger side head light on the Selecta went last night, not looked at with, but now the headlight switch is playing up with the side and tail lights. If its not one thing, its another. Dad's headlight switch is also playing up at the moment.

Does anyone else suffer from problems with headlight switches much?

What ball joint? the big one? if so needs pressed out & in, plus the emissions are an easy adjust on the carb.....(y)

Considering the miles it's f**k all (y)(y)
To get the emissions down, Try getting some of that Petrol Treatment stuff from Redex, And if it's been a while, change air filter... Apart from that, I guess you could weaken your fuel to air mixture on the carb...

I would say it's probably the air filter that needs changing.

When I set her up in October the emissions were well within MOT limits. If you do adjust the mixture screw mark it up so you can turn it back later if you want to.

If it's the lower ball joint, it is easy. Pop the hub off & unbolt the carrier and take it to a garage and get them to press a new one in then just bolt it back up. It's a slightly awkward pressing because of the angle the carrier bends in at. But it's no big problem. You could always paint the carrier as well. Stuff like that always impresses the MOT testers.
