I'm going to give the car a detail at the weekend and then update you all with my little mods that i have been doing the past month, as said though nothing major.

Hi,

Are there any more photos of the Induction kit fitted to the GP yet.

Also I have a question. Why can't you just fit a universal filter straight onto the hosing already fitted to the car?????

Thanks

Jon

Not really a useful response

If you fit a new filter onto the end of the existing hosing you will not feel any difference. High performance filters have larger hosing to allow more air through and the pipes are often moulded through the specific engine bays to move the filters to a more performance orientated place.

For example, the GSR filter for the punto is positioned behind the front fog light right at the bottom of the car. This is to allow the highest airflow to the filter possible and also ensures that the air going in is definately cold. If you look at the standard hosing it will be located normally near the front grille and not be very large at all. Not only does this hinder airflow but often the air going through the filter is warm and not cold.

My friend has a pipercross for his C2 and again, the intake piping is larger and is funelled from down below.

Hope that helps! (y)

Hmmm

I didn't think the hosing size looked that much different. Also when i've been driving hard the engine bay is relatively cold (especially compared to my previous - civic type r)

Surely a universal high performance filter fitted to the existing hosing with a cold air feed, and heat shield if necessary would make a difference. Plus this only costs about 50 quid compared to 150

?????

i dnt think any1 is gnna agree with you tbh.

people have used GSR on here and have found great results and the total opposite with universal ones(n)

Air ducting and heatshield will be slightly better than without but standard airbox will still be better. You will still experience 'heat soak'. The GSR goes stright from the turbo to the wheel arch it also uses a wider bore and turned pipe width. If you look in PuntoKris's gallery im sure theres some pics of it.

Edit: J1ppers f*** off somewhere were you can be off use :p :nerner:
