Technical Lots of side play in 100hp clutch pedal

My 100hp Panda clutch pedal makes a noise when returning from bottom of it:s travel. It's not a clunk. It sounds more like someone crushing an empty plastic drinks bottle. There is also too much lateral movement in the pedal so maybe it's a problem with a bush. I've stuck my head in there with a torch but I can't see what's making the noise.

Hopefully the attached video will work, showing the excessive movement and someone might be able to tell me what's likely to have failed.

Got there in the end. A nylon 'top hat' bush had got distorted making it impossible to push the pivot bar through. I tidied it up with a round file and that did the trick.

I have spent most of the day doing this but the clutch pedal is nice and smooth now and doesn't make any stupid noises.

I have been to the edge of sanity and beyond! Still, it's done now. All ready for the next repair "Fix It Again Tomorrow".

I was just having a beer or two and reflecting on what a tricky frustrating job this has been and I realised there are two positive aspects to it.

I only removed the pedal this morning so the job has been completed in one day. It only cost a fiver for the welding.

Disconnect the master cylinder ball joint and you should have a chance. It pops off with a suitable pry bar. Probably fit the pedal return spring** after the pivot pin is fitted.
** I can’t remember if the clutch has one.
