Some more improvements to the speaker box and sound.
Adding some wadding to the enclosure gives an illusion of more space and the sound has a little more depth.

Also decided on a new Clarion stereo too as just couldn't get the best sound from my Alpine unit.
The new one has complete sound dynamics so I now have full control on adjustments to hear the sound play perfect. :D

I will also be upgrading the front speakers again at some point as want a little more power and clarity there.

Otherwise it sounds great! :D

As you all may know I,m having a new cylinder head modified/tuned and Dave, (Mr Fixit Engine Tuning) is doing a great job and I,m really looking forward to the finished results.

He has also been working on a modified inlet manifold for the B and here are some photos of the work so far.

Kc3 did you find the drain holes closed in the floor when you removed the old soundproofing?I've just removed mine and all the holes were closed and soundproofed over.the floor was very wet,its all drying now and I will replace the new soundproofing next week.

Actually Yes! they were hardly open.
Although I don't really have my B out in the rain if I can help it, so my floors were dry.

I have opened them slightly more now should any water find its way down there.(y)

Dynamat original is great stuff and although tricky to fit will give excellent sound proofing, so worth using on the floors.
Just make sure you clean all the old stuff off and when fitting the new stuff the trick is to heat it up well so it really softens and molds
to the shape of the floor.

After recently fitting my new rear speakers and sub, although the sound has greatly improved, :) when the roof was down and at high speed the air turbulence coming in round the back plays havoc with the sound and I needed to crank the volume higher to compensate .

So you guys should know me by now and I just couldn't have that! ;)
I decided on a new clarion head unit with full sound alignment and equalization and welcome the new design for my wind stop, I initially had it square at the top and then changed to the curved design which looks better.
This is just a wooden template to test the design and then I will have it produced in laminated glass.
Goods news is that its works a treat, stops the incoming wind and the stereo sounds great, even at low levels and at high speed. :D

More pics to follow when its all fully finished.

Thank you kc3,yes I have removed every bit of the old soundproofing, and the material behind the peddles as it was wet halfway up also.I notice you put a sub in the plate behind the seats,is there room there to fit two speakers?I'm having trouble finding shallow speakers for the doors.

Hiya! There is more space in the left far corner, enough for a 10/12inch sub but limited space elsewhere. If you look at the photo's you might get away with using some small enough speakers around the top areas but they would not be in great positions to hear any music. A sub woofer is different, no need to be heard just felt. (y)

The original subwoofer box can be bought from the same place I bought mine,
Although its design is good its not that great performance wise, once you remove the insides and replace the speakers the whole Barchetta sound stage changes.

Better sound and more bass can be had from the front once you use dynamat extreme and good quality component speakers.
An addition to some rear speakers and a larger subwoofer completes the stage but I,ve always felt that If you could get some quality 6x9's mounted in the rear area by some DIY box the sound would also be good enough

wow your taking sound proofing serious :) I like it
Do the materials used cost alot? How much did you spend on that for doing the complete car like you dit? Any idea on how much weight in total is added to the car?

Thinking about doing the same. I guess road noice is serious reduced with this

Hiya Oli,

Yes I started off with just upgrading round the front speakers and it made such an improvement so gradually added it around the vehicle.

Best value for money is a complete car kit but I bought mine in sections so has cost me a few hundred euros to complete.

I can say though the difference it has made is phenomenal! (y)
The ride feels so more quite and solid, no vibrations, squeaking and even with my low tyres feels so much better.

The new stereo, speakers and subwoofer can be played with high volume and there are no vibrations from any body panels.

I have added as much dynamat extreme in most sections reachable within the doors, inner front and rear wings. The feel of the metal is dense like a piece of wood.

Although all together I may have added some kilo's I hope I have managed to compensate with the removal of my battery tray, rear seat panel and rear spare wheel. :)

Hiya all,

Been a while since my last post , but finally got my rear glass windstop made.
Here's some pictures of the fitting.

Its a tempered/toughened glass and has the same colored tint as the rest of the car.

Its sealed in with a rubberized sealant and looks very OMP.. :D
