General I got to compare the new 500 with the old one.

The New Fiat 500 arrived at my local dealers today and I was allowed to compare old and new together. I have to say a BIG thank you to Dez the Manager, Kim and the rest of the Guys at Mervyn Stewarts for giving me free reign to play about and move half the showroom cars about for the photos.

What a difference in size 50 years makes. The photos really speak for themselves. But clearly the people at Fiat tried to stay true to the old 500 were possible. Having seen the 2 cars together now I can see so many similarities. Excellent.

Although bigger the silouete is really close.

And the New car in "Lounge" finish.

I was able to see old and new together in a garage near reading. They had a racing (i think) 500 from days of old right next to a new one in white.

Quite an amazing difference, as your pics show!

I think they both look great, but somehow the older 500 oozes class without trying. Its such a shame they couldnt reduce the size of the new one a bit more.
The one amazing thing about the old one is its engine note, youll never get such a characterful engine again, cant wait till the 2 cylinder new engine arrives.
