Feeling a bit stupid with this basic question - I have levered out the side repeater unit from drivers side on 2008 Fiat 500 but now it doesn't seem to want to pull fully out, in order for me to replace blown bulb - don't want to exert major pull, if I'm missing some smart way of doing the job - advice please !

OK, have now managed to (somehow) get the whole of the repeater assembly out and hanging by wires - phew! BUT the bulb filament looks OK and none the 4 bulbs with correct fitting that I had 'in stock' will work either, when I swap them in.

Any ideas, please, as to why ? I'm kinda guessing that no power might be reaching this one light assembly though all the others are flashing just fine, when I click on Hazard Warning.

Test your bulbs on the battery to confirm good regardless.
Have you got a multi meter? Or carefully use a known good bulb, one side to a known good earth the other side of bulb to either of the holder contacts does it flash?
Remove the plug from the holder and push back in several times, try this first, if no flash broken feed wire if it flashes then broken earth wire?

I have posed my last query as a fresh posting on the Forum, in hopes that some electrical expert can assist - on my original point, about getting the actual holder fully out, that's done of course but I'm not optimistic about eventually getting if refitted , as it doesn't seem to want to click back or solidly engage with the bodywork, no idea quite why. (May end up gluing it, to hold it firm in place !)

Jockstrap : thanks, I will give everything a good clean, when/if I get the repeater working properly, then have a 'real' go at re-fitting (I've only given it a half-hearted push back into temporary position, so far) - don't think that any lugs etyc have broken, so we'll see what happens then !

John 202020: thanks for multimeter thoughts, which have been touched on in my new posting about lack of electrical power, if you care to look across there . I think there is some stuff to be checked, as you suggest, by running a test light to check power and/or earth are operative or otherwise....
