Can you replicate it by pressing brake pedal etc. Or do you think it is due to something caused by the inertia of stopping, like a faulty wiring connection etc.
I don't know if your stop solenoid on the injection pump is visible or security shrouded, if visible you could attach a temporary wire to eliminate that theory.
If it was air in fuel etc. I would have thought that it wouldn't restart straight away, but struggle.

Thank you for your suggestion I will try her and the weekend just to let you know when I start the engine which starts okay it will rev up to the red line then drop the throttle and it will take over just fine and it will do that all day even if I push the footbrake I took her out for a run round the village three out of four junctions fine as slowed to get to my house out of second to go into first she stalled bump started and she was taking over just fine as if it had never happened I suppose it's going to be a lot of runs around the village to try and eliminate the problem any ideas would be appreciated and how much of a service can you do on the high pressure pump

I trust you don't mean the engine revs to to redline on starting without your foot on the pedal.
I try to avoid high revving unloaded diesels (as in neutral or clutch down), when Mot diesel smoke tests first came out , that process was used with several engine failures! Also "bump starting" diesels can cause cam belt failure and terminal damage unlike petrol engines which generally are more forgiving due to much lower engine compression.
Any internal repair to the diesel injector pump is best left to a professional diesel specialist, although there are less of them around these days as diesel engines have become more computer controlled.
