As the title says the back box just fell off in rush hr traffic this morning gutted it was a bit rusty i knew that when i had it but expected it to last a few more months ive had it 3/4 months now.

Anyway by me they've put up x amount of speed humps and my sporting mk2 is low as it is anyway and its taken its toll :((n)

What prices you think i'd be looking at for a new back box its completely snapped off

£55-60, plus £25 to fit maybe. I would be really gutted if it was the original box since that fits flush behind the bumper, whereas aftermarket boxes tend to hang lower, and catch on every damn speed hump with three in the back.

It was the original one and its not like ive gone over humps fast ive slowed right down!! p*ss me right off they do these humps

I wouldn't mind so much if my car was lowered, but even an unmodified mk1 Punto catches the humps which means they are clearly too high. And then they do not maintain the humps so you get pot-holes on the humps! Nice sharp edges to ruin your new grippy tyres.

Being that sales are slow at JCB, we could probably convince them to sell us an Excavator for £10. Shall we get two and go around the country digging up the wretched things? All they do is paralyse those unfortunate people that travel in an ambulance with spinal injuries.

Im with you on that mate i tell ya the things are the bain of my life i hate the things!

Just to get t my missus house i have to go over 4 i mean ffs its not a boy racing area the council are to blame i should send them my bill + the pot holes alone are shocking

I have been told that the rules in Stoke are that any pot hole deeper than 40mm that causes damage is actually the liability of the council. However, I was told to take photos with rulers in the shot before you even try to pursue a claim since they have a mysterious habit of being filled in as soon as the council is alerted to a claim.
