hi, the pipe from flexible end furthest from engine has rusted so pipe has actually come apart clean. however other side pipe to engine is still welded fine. so what would be the best way to fix, should i replace whole section or just flexible part, which would mean somehow cutting the still connected pipe and using clamps as i cannot weld. any help and other solutions would help me decide best way forward. you guys are best, thank you in advance :)

The easiest option is to get the entire middle exhaust section.

That's what I did on my Panda, if it's just the flexi that's broken, if rest of exhaust is OK and if you can get access to cut it off

sorry for late reply but yes gonna go this way, gonna find out size so it goes on the outer and cut slits if they dot haave so when i camp i get a good seal and being on the outer i wont create a slight pinch point in the flow and lose efficiency. need to get a proper selant too.
i did think abot replacing whole section but i alwys have probems with rusted screws to remove the exhaust from the engine end, i would have to get a new gasket too, as i write this i do realise this would be a better long erm solution, hmmm lol, might give some more thought until i measure pipe and am ready to buy parts, thanks guys :)

i had the back box replaced on mot 4 months ago so gonna just replace the flex section, if they said then the this part would not last i would have had it done then, but it is what it is.
does anybody now which is the best exhaust sealant or which not to use please?, thanks

This is how mine arrived, with clamps and paste. I've used Holts Gun Gum in the past as well.

Both ends of the flexi are slotted to allow clamping over the pipe.

The only difficulty for my Panda is that the exhaust is different diameters either side of the flexi...
...but replacements don't come like that. So plenty of paste and plenty of tightening it was :-/

18 months and two MOTs later it still seems fine
