General Grinding noise in 1st gear

Hi all, so like the title says whenever I get to my biting point and also after releasing the clutch fully in 1st gear there is a horrible loud grinding noise. Now this only happens in 1st gear, as soon as I get into 2nd the grinding stops. Had clutch changed around 2 months ago and the noise started about 2 weeks ago. I’m due to drive to Manchester airport from Leeds on Friday and will not have time to get this looked at before then.

Does anyone have any idea of what it could be and am I going to make it to the airport?

Sounds like the clutch wasn't fixed properly. You could check to see if the gearbox is leaking, I've previously had clutch changed and the gearbox was left with a problem.

Who knows if you'll make it to the airport and back?!
